Successful Manchester to Blackpool charity ride
Following a Cycle-to-Work scheme by Cycle Solutions for Bentley motors (see below for more), Simon also uses his Specialized Roubaix bike to benefit others. Read Simon's update after finishing a 61 mile charity ride:

The Manchester to Blackpool ride is completed. It took 4 hours 21 mins in the saddle, 61.2 miles with a total climb of 715 metres. The weather was not great being windy most of the way, and raining for half an hour after Preston. The weather is my excuse for the less than Tour de France spec average speed of 14.2mph, but if you look at the enclosed data, the heart rate shows I was doing some work. For the medically minded, the average heart rate was 144 beats per minute, peak 168. 3,600 calories burnt.
In Blackpool the wind was blowing from the beach across the road which stings a bit and gets in your eyes. Nice. Did a bit of sprint for the last two miles and passed about 150 people. The fund is now £1,300! Thanks all.... Simon The next one is Liverpool to Chester and back on the 18th of July.
