Wheelies Direct Cycle Solutions is one of Britain's leading independent cycle retailers. We work closely with many of the UK's largest employers and organisations to supply brand new bikes and cycling equipment to customers all over the country. History
Wheelies was established in 1982 and was acquired by its present owners in 1989. Not content with simply running bicycle shops throughout South Wales, we started offering our services to insurance companies and have been replacing bicycles on their behalf since 1992.
The Insurance Replacement Department was formed in 1992 when we identified a need within the insurance industry for an expert cycle specialist. Until then insurance companies were simply paying out insurance claims based on estimates obtained from local bike shops. These estimates in many cases didn't relate to the original bike that was stolen but they related to the bike the policyholder would rather have! We set up Wheelies Direct Cycle Replacement to provide assistance with the validation and settlement of insurance claims for pedal cycles.
The business grew rapidly and by 1995 we had established Wheelies Direct as the market leader in the cycle replacement market. Today the insurance replacement division processes over 20,000 bike claims each year from our centralised head office in Swansea. Wheelies Direct has preferred supplier arrangements in place with almost all UK general insurance companies including; Zurich Financial Services, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group, AXA and Esure.

Cycle Solutions was launched in early 2005 and has seen an impressive sustained growth. In June 2006 the business was incorporated as Wheelies Direct Cycle Solutions Ltd. Since then Cycle Solutions has expanded rapidly in response to increased demand for the Cycle to Work Scheme from employers all over the UK.
Government legislation enables Cycle Solutions to offer employers and their staff generous tax exemptions through salary sacrifice arrangements. Today we have over 60 full time employees, with a dedicated and experienced customer care team providing 24-hour customer support. Our mechanics are CyTech NVQ qualified which enables us to ensure that bikes are assembled, prepared and quality checked to the highest standards.
