Users of the cycle to work scheme are saving 112,210 tonnes of CO2 every year, according to new research published today by the Cycle to Work Alliance. The survey also found that the scheme continues to play an important role in encouraging more and more commuters to travel to work by bicycle, attracting new cyclists onto their bikes.

The Cycle to Work Alliance saw a significant boost in take-up during the beginning of 2013, with almost a fifth more employees signing up to the scheme compared to the same period last year. This increase in demand for the cycle to work scheme was despite the harsh weather conditions over the past months.
