14” wheel kid’s bikes are great for little ones at around 3-5 years old (depending on height, if they are taller look at the next size up) and 98-106cm. The first step is checking out the sizing guide to see if the bike will fit them. If your child is on the younger, smaller and hasn’t yet got used to pedals, consider a 12” wheel bike (balance or with stabilisers, it’s up to you).
The best choice here is not to be tempted to get a bike they can grow into, having a bike that’s too big can have a detrimental impact to their confidence and skills. Their age, height and confidence will be a good indicator of which bike to go for, kids grow at different rates and what’s right for one may not be right for another.
14” inch wheel kid’s bikes will come with or without stabilisers, and the large majority will have two brakes. With stock from fantastic brands like
Frog,
Raleigh and
Scott, there’s plenty of choice available.
